Kiran Sawhney

This post is dedicated to my elder son Sarthi Sawhney. He is tall (6 ft), athletic, very fitness conscious, handsome and agile. Since he was a kid, he was health and fitness conscious and I really did not have to teach him a thing. In fact, I have learnt a lot from him. As a kid ( at the age of 7 year), he would say that I am going to jog in my school ground because I ate heavy dinner yesterday. I used to wonder, from where he was learning this and trust me I have no hand in this (though you would like to believe so).

If I got a new equipment, in my studio, he would tell me 20 different variations as to how to use it. He would jump on my trampoline, swiss ball etc but he refuses to be formally trained by me (considers it below his dignity). But silently he observes me, my books, the fitness videos I am watching, when I am explaining things to people etc. He has so many suggestions for me, for my work etc. He keeps pushing me to expand my work but I keep telling him that right now, my boys are my priority not my work.

Since class 1, every year, he has won a medal in sports day in his school. Now he is in class 11. Today, again he won a medal in 1500 meter race in school. This too, with no formal training (I did want him to and he refused). I did pray for him. His friends asked him- what do you eat? In the last phase, he says, when he is about to give up, somehow, he gets his energy back and starts running faster. Till then he is not leading but then, just starts overtaking everyone and eventually, there he is. Yeahhhhh! he made a record today again. In fact, he beat his own record of last year. I so much wish that he hires me as his trainer. Bwaah!!!

Few more facts about Sarthi:

He loves animals. In fact, I think he loves my dog more than he loves me….just kiddin.
He is aspiring to be a lawyer.
He is a Librian and very proud of his dimple on his cheeks.
He takes me out on dates and treats me very special. Gets a ticket for my favorite movie, takes me to my favorite restaurant, buys me special gift.
He learnt driving from me.
He can now lift me like this.

More facts:

We both fight a lot. Argue even more. But I have been told that teenagers of his age do fight with their parents.

He always finds even the thinnest girl, very fat. Can you believe it that he finds most of the bollywood actresses fat? Be it Karisma or Kareena Kapoor. I am, of course, fat, by his standards. So I keep wondering who would be his girlfriend- a skeleton perhaps.

Last but not the least-I am so proud of him.
